An impressive house with two-story portico, the present structure was built around a one-story house constructed in 1880. The Abner Pyles family lived in the house from 1886-1909. The John Hubbard family lived in the house from 1932-1989. Harris Cook Properties purchased the property in 2009. Texas State Representative and former mayor David Cook currently practices law in this house. The late Texas State Senator Chris Harris practiced law in the house until his death in 2015. Two other mayors had ties to this house: Mayor N.C. Pyles and Mayor Lon T. Hubbard.
